Holy Avtar Vani - Shabad No. 173
Nirankar di jaat hai sachchi baki jhoothiyan jatan ne;
Ikko gal hi lekhe paini hor koorhiyan batan ne.
Devan wale daate rehnain rehniyan nahin eh datan ne;
Ikko sachche naam de bajhon dhrig dhrig karamatan ne.
Rehndi ey jo kol pati de us diyan wah barsatan ne;
Jisda preetam hai pardesi us diyan kaaliyan ratan ne.
Ghar da maalak ghar na disse kehrhe kam sugatan ne;
Kahe avtar guru de rahin rab naal hundiyan batan ne.
Meaning
Here Baba Avtar Singh ji said that without knowing God, everything is useless. By attaining God knowledge from True Master, one can make a direct connection with the God. True is the entity of the Formless God, all other entities are untrue. Only one thing shall get counted and accepted, everything else is false. The great Giver shall stay forever, while all material objects that He has given shall not stay. Cursed are the wonders without the true name of God. The woman who stays with her husband enjoys the rainy season. But the lady, whose husband is far away, finds the nights dark and dreadful. All his bounties are meaningless, if the owner of the house is not there. Here we are referring God as the owner of this creation. Similarly one can enjoy the union with God through the blessings of the True Master.
